Transcriptions
Over the last few years, both by e-mail and snail mail, I have had an incredible number of requests for transcriptions of my tunes. Because of my method of writing since I began composing in alternate tunings, I have tended to resist “figuring it out” since so much of it just comes from experimentation. While I am capable of doing it, I can’t help being haunted by a fear of messing with the “voodoo”. My feeling, as crazy as it may sound, is that if I start figuring out what I’m doing I’ll run out of ideas. Having said that, I’m looking for someone to start the long and arduous task of transcribing every piece on record so far as well as doing the new stuff as it comes out. If you’re interested and don’t think my music is evil or imprecise, I’d love to hear from you! The ideal person will be a music school graduate, student, or at the very least a real wacko that lives for this kind of stuff. Of course, you will get a fat chunk of everything sold through this site and, in the likely event that we sign a book deal for the works at some point after completion, you will get a piece of that too.
