Young's 1997 album, Sticks & Stones (PolyGram), reached the top 25 on Billboard's New Age charts and featured a stunning mix of primal acoustic grooves and starkly beautiful ballads, as well as guest performances by the likes of the late Michael Hedges, Michael Manring, and Will Ackerman (who also produced). Young intends to make his web site an outlet for music from his new label, Young Brave Records, and is currently negotiating marketing and distribution deals with several major labels. Also at the site are Young's bio, discography, press and artist quotes, an extensive photo gallery, guitar and gear info, tunings, and in-depth essays by the Young on everything from touring to recording acoustic guitar to his personal studio to the pitfalls of recording for corporate giants. Young has four new recordings slated for release over the next two years, including the re-release of his out-of-print solo acoustic album, Consistent Variation (1994), and his "lost" 1999 album, Speak!--a full band effort produced by Kip Winger and featuring drummer Rod Morgenstein and bassist Michael Manring. Third, due to his increased involvement in scoring for film and television, an album of original film-oriented music, Music for Film, is in the works.
